Hand sanitisers were first introduced in 1966, but only in medical settings such as hospitals and healthcare facilities. The product was popularized in the early 1990s. To be precise, Hand sanitisers were invented by Lupe Hernandez, a registered nurse in Bakersfield, California, in 1966. While Hernandez was studying to become a nurse, she learned that cleaning alcohol can be delivered via a gel so that cleaning could occur without soap and water. The alcohol in hand sanitisers kills germs and bacteria found on hands.
For health care, optimal disinfection requires attention to all exposed surfaces such as around the fingernails, between the fingers, on the back of the thumb, and around the wrist. Hand alcohol should be thoroughly rubbed into the hands and on the lower forearm for a duration of at least 30 seconds and then allowed to air dry.
Alcohol-based (liquid) hand sanitiser is more convenient compared to hand washing with soap and water in most situations in the healthcare setting. It is generally more effective at killing microorganisms and better tolerated than soap and water. Hand washing should still be carried out if contamination can be seen or following the use of the toilet.
The hand sanitiser we provide is made using Best Quality Ethyl Alcohol and suitable to kill 99.99% of germs and bacteria. It’s engineered to meet the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA or Agency) to get you a pathogen free skin.
This liquid sanitiser is generally used to decrease infectious agents on the hands. Formulations of the alcohol-based type are preferable to hand washing with soap and water in most situations in the healthcare setting. It is generally more effective at killing microorganisms and better tolerated than soap and water.
