The Titan Radio TR7XN-IS is an ultra-rugged, intrinsically safe DMR Tier II and Tier III professional two-way radio engineered specifically for hazardous industrial environments, including oil refineries, offshore platforms, chemical processing plants, and grain handling facilities. Certified to UL 913 and ANSI/TIA-4950 standards for Class I, II, and III, Division 1 locations, this transceiver provides dependable, mission-critical voice communication while mitigating ignition risks in explosive gas, dust, and fiber atmospheres.
Built to endure extreme field demands, the TR7XN-IS features an IP68-rated submersible chassis and meets MIL-STD-810G/H durability standards. Its discrete, top-facing 0.91" OLED display enables quick channel, zone, RSSI, and battery checks directly from a chest harness, while dedicated controls and an emergency top button allow seamless operation even with heavy industrial work gloves. High-noise refinery environments are conquered through an AMBE+2™ vocoder with 30 dB acoustic noise suppression and a powerful 2.0W peak audio drive.

What hazardous area certifications does the Titan Radio TR7XN-IS carry?
The radio is certified intrinsically safe by UL under UL 913 5th Edition and ANSI/TIA-4950 for Class I, II, III, Division 1, Groups C, D, E, F, G (T4, -30°C to +60°C) and Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D (T4).
How does the autonomous Man Down system work?
The radio features an internal 3-axis accelerometer that monitors movement and radio angle. If a worker falls into a horizontal position or remains motionless past a preset threshold, the radio activates an alert sequence and broadcasts an emergency beacon with GNSS coordinates.
Can I charge the battery or swap accessories inside a classified hazardous area?
No. While the radio and attached IS battery are certified safe for use in hazardous zones, battery charging, battery replacement, and disconnecting audio accessories must strictly be done in non-classified, safe areas.
Is the Titan TR7XN-IS compatible with existing analog and DMR networks?
Yes. The TR7XN-IS operates on both analog (12.5/20/25 kHz) and DMR Tier II and Tier III digital networks (12.5 kHz 2-slot TDMA), allowing seamless migration from legacy analog systems to modern digital trunking.
