CONSULT AN EXPERT

Why Professionals Choose ISS.

We don't just carry hazardous area equipment. We help you identify the right certified product for your classification, get it to site before your window closes, and stand behind the order if anything goes wrong.

Genuine Certifications. No Grey-Market Channels.

Every product we ship carries verified ATEX, IECEx, UL, or CSA certification — sourced directly from manufacturers we've qualified. Your compliance audit won't find surprises here.

Fit for Your Classification. Not the Easiest Sale.

Before we recommend anything, we ask: What zone? What classification? What atmosphere? We match the product to your actual hazardous area requirements — Zone 0, Zone 1, Class I Div 1, Class I Div 2 — not the highest-margin option on our shelf.

Expert Support When the Pressure's On.

When an active turnaround hits a technical issue, you need an answer — not a ticket number. Our team knows the difference between Ex d and Ex i, and they respond the same day. That's the standard, not the exception.

You Reach an Expert. Not a Call Center.

When you contact ISS, you reach someone with working knowledge of your industry — upstream, midstream, mining, petrochemical. Our team is built to support your ongoing compliance program and long-term equipment needs, not just process your first order and disappear.

Equipping Critical Industries.

We understand the strict purchasing protocols, compliance requirements, and zero-error tolerance of large industrial operations. Here's where we work.

Refining & Oil/Gas

From upstream rigs to downstream refineries, we supply Zone 1 and Class I Division certified equipment built for the realities of your site — turnaround windows, multi-site procurement, and HSE inspections that leave no room for wrong ratings.

Petrochemical

Volatile processing environments demand full traceability. Every device we ship to a petrochemical facility comes with an unbroken chain of custody from manufacturer to your receiving dock — documented, not assumed.

Mining

Underground and surface extraction environments are unforgiving. We stock rugged, intrinsically safe communications and monitoring equipment rated for the conditions your crews actually work in — not just certified on paper.

Pharmaceutical & Chemical Processing

Combustible dust zones and cleanroom environments carry strict — and often misunderstood — hazardous area requirements. We help EHS and procurement teams confirm the right rating before the order goes in, so inspection day isn't a problem.

How We Handle Your Order.

Three things that matter when equipment is going into a classified area — and how we approach each one.

01Delivery

Delivery You Can Schedule Around.

Transit time depends on the equipment and where it's going — so instead of a generic promise that breaks under a turnaround, we give you a realistic delivery window for your specific order before you buy. For international shipments, we manage export control requirements and dangerous goods documentation to prevent border delays. If your timeline is critical, tell us up front and we'll confirm honestly what's possible.

A real delivery window before you commit.

02Chain of Custody

Factory-Sealed. Chain of Custody Documented.

In explosive atmospheres, the integrity of your equipment isn't a preference — it's a compliance requirement. We verify that every product moves factory-sealed, directly from the manufacturer to your site, with no secondary channels in between. What you receive is exactly what was certified.

No grey-market risk on your audit.

03Support

One Call. A Real Person. Same Day.

When an order hits a problem — wrong spec, shipping delay, manufacturer discrepancy — our support team engages the same day. If a product needs to be swapped to keep your facility on schedule, we move fast. Your downtime is not an acceptable outcome.

Technical resolution, not ticket queues.

The People Behind ISS.

When you're sourcing equipment for a classified area, you're trusting a supplier with your compliance, your schedule, and your crew's safety. Here's who stands behind every order we ship.

James McDonough

CEO & Founder
Founded2019
Based inHouston, Texas

James McDonough brings over 20 years of leadership experience across Oil & Gas, Mining, Manufacturing, and Technology. Educated at MIT and the Wharton School, and holding a LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt, he built ISS on a foundation of rigorous process and technical accountability.

ISS exists because the hazardous area equipment market was — and largely still is — fragmented, difficult to navigate, and underserved by suppliers who don't actually know the environment their customers work in. James built the company to fix that.

Technical Sales

Our sales team doesn't push products — they ask the right questions first. Zone or Division? Gas group? Temperature class? They confirm your classification before making a recommendation, so you don't end up with the wrong device in a classified area.

Manufacturer Relationships

We work directly with qualified global manufacturers — ECOM, BARTEC, Nightstick, Aegex, XCIEL and others — not distributors of distributors. Every product is authentic, fully certified, and traceable to its origin.

Customer Support

If your order hits a problem after it ships, you reach a person — not an automated system. Our support team handles technical discrepancies, shipping issues, and returns with a direct response, not a queue.

Who We Work With.

  • An oil & gas operator in the US running multi-site turnaround operations who can't afford the wrong rated product or a shipment that arrives late.
  • A chemical plant EHS manager sourcing certified devices for a scheduled inspection — with zero tolerance for a product that doesn't match the area classification on record.
  • A manufacturing facility in the US or UK equipping maintenance crews in classified areas — where an incorrect certification means a failed audit and a stopped line.
  • A construction contractor in Canada or the US outfitting crews in Class I Division 2 environments — who needs a supplier that confirms the classification before recommending anything.
  • A pharmaceutical procurement team in the US or Canada sourcing combustible-dust-rated equipment for a new production line — where compliance isn't optional.
  • An international energy operator — Australia, Barbados, Nigeria — shipping ATEX or IECEx certified gear across borders, who needs export documentation handled correctly the first time.

You need the right product, delivered on time, at a fair price.

That's what we're built for — and what we stand behind.
