Atexxo Manufacturing converts and certifies the explosion-proof iPads, originally manufactured by Apple, according to ATEX directives. This certification makes the tablets safe for use in gas/vapor zone 2 and dust zone 22 hazardous locations, which are the European equivalents of US NEC Class 1 Division 2 (C1D2) equipment.
We achieve compliance with ATEX / EX regulations by modifying the casing and the intrinsically safe electrical circuit, ensuring the tablets are suitable for safe use in hazardous areas. Nearly all features of the original product are preserved, except for the button fingerprint scanner.
The ATEX iPad mini 6 features an aluminum case finish and is available in both the WIFI-only model and the WIFI + Cellular 5G model. In addition to being a smart tablet, both versions function excellently as intrinsically safe video or photo cameras with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, and 5G connectivity.
