The Datcon DT9500 and DT9502 Intrinsically Safe Resistance Thermometers / Transmitters deliver reliable temperature measurement and local visual monitoring directly in potentially explosive plant areas (ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 2). Engineered specifically for harsh chemical processing, upstream and downstream oil and gas plants, and process facilities, this instrument connects to standard Pt100 resistance temperature sensors via 3-wire or 4-wire configurations to eliminate lead resistance errors and maintain process integrity.

Operating as a two-wire, 4–20 mA loop-powered transmitter, the instrument allows user-assigned temperature ranges with calibrated 3-point sensor curve fitting for exceptional measurement accuracy. An ultra-clear 4 ½ digit LCD with large 20.5 mm character height ensures instant readability across dark or distant field locations, while front-panel membrane push-buttons allow quick on-site calibration and setup secured by two-level password protection.
