OTTO 500 Fire-Rated Speaker Microphone
The OTTO 500 is a rugged, fire-rated speaker microphone specifically engineered for the most extreme hazardous environments, including fire-fighting and oil & gas operations. Designed to maintain functionality in the heat of a fire, this device features an exceptionally durable outer casing and fiberglass insulation, allowing it to withstand temperatures as high as 500°F (260°C) for a minimum of five minutes.
OTTO 500, Fire-Tuff™ is the proprietary material and construction technology used for the microphone’s coiled cord. It is specifically engineered to survive the “High-Heat-and-Flash” conditions encountered by structural firefighters.
While standard radio cables are typically made of PVC or TPU (which melt, off-gas, or lose their “coil” shape when exposed to extreme heat), Fire-Tuff™ is built to meet much higher safety margins.
Performance in the field is enhanced by an internal microphone optimized to reduce ambient noise and a large, snap-action push-to-talk (PTT) button that is easily operated even while wearing heavy gloves. With its omnidirectional microphone and FIRE-TUFF heat-resistant cable, the OTTO 500 ensures that vital voice commands are captured from any angle and communicated clearly, regardless of high-pressure water flow or blowing rain.
