The Hydrosteel® 6500 is the world's first multipoint hydrogen flux corrosion monitor designed for non-intrusive, real-time assessment of active corrosion and hydrogen damage in demanding industrial environments. Ideal for oil refineries, gas processing facilities, and chemical plants, this intrinsically safe device measures diffusible hydrogen escaping through steel to provide direct evidence of corrosion without relying on invasive probes or wall-thickness resolution limits.
Field-engineered for extreme industrial conditions, the Hydrosteel 6500 features four independent sampling lines, robust push-button controls easily operable while wearing heavy PPE, and a high-visibility backlit LCD screen. Powered by dual internal Li-ion batteries providing up to 70 hours of continuous field operation, it seamlessly integrates with small and large roaming probes capable of attaching to steel curvatures down to 3.5 inches and withstanding surface temperatures up to 350°C (660°F).

🔗 ATEX & IECEx Zone 0 Certified Field Testing Equipment
How does the Hydrosteel 6500 measure corrosion in pipe walls?
It magnetically attaches a collection plate to the steel surface, draws sample air across the plate to gather diffusible hydrogen, and measures hydrogen concentration to calculate real-time hydrogen flux without pipe wall intrusion.
Is the Hydrosteel 6500 certified for Zone 0 explosive atmospheres?
Yes, it carries dual ATEX and IECEx certifications (Ex ia IIC T4 Ga) for safe operation in high-risk hazardous locations.
What steel pipe diameters and temperatures are supported by the probes?
The included small probe fits steel diameters down to 3.5 inches, the large probe fits diameters above 5 inches, and both withstand surface temperatures up to 350°C (660°F).
How long can the system run on battery power in the field?
The unit operates up to 70 hours continuously on its internal rechargeable Li-ion batteries, or up to several months when programmed for interval logging.
