Hello everyone. This is the intrinsicallysafestore.com with our review of the Ecom hazardous area tablet, the Tab Ex-02 DZ2. This comes both in non and hazardous areas rated as well as Zone 1 but this is the Zone 2 version. The Zone 1 version is a bit beefier and we also have that online at intrinsicallysafestore.com.
So this is the box that it comes in. It comes with a charging cable, the S-Pen here which is also rated for IP67 and you can take that into hazardous areas quite nicely. Just throw that back in the holes there but here it is. So we have the power here, two-volume controls for the charging cradle, camera, rear camera, all the certification information there if you need to show it on site.
Let’s see here. Normal Android buttons as well as the headphone jack and charging port there. This is a really nice device for the hazardous area, rated areas some of the other vendors out there are a bit beefier and thicker. This basically is a Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 which ECOM has worked to collaborate with them to make it hazardous area safe. So it is Zone 2 ATEX 2/22 rated Class 1 Division 2, IECEx rated for CSA.
The 8-inch screen here runs on Android Oreo 8 and then comes with the standard you know what would come with a normal Samsung device like runs on Knoxx for security. It is IP68 certified for dust, water and shock so it is you know, quite really beefy or rated to that standard.
3 gigabytes around 25 hour talk time which is very impressive. So multiple shifts there. An 8-megapixel camera so you know high-def, can create high-def videos. One interesting thing, obviously the LTE/Wi-Fi both model, both are available. An interesting thing here are the pins so there, I guess I forget the exact name but there it is. So they’re quite durable. Some of them have an additional charging port like an accessory for quick charging.
And yeah, the S-pen I mentioned but this is really a great device. Obviously, the operational excellence software like Fatfinger.IO to do digital procedures works with this. Any other standard Android application but this is one of the sexier hazardous area tablets on the market today. Replace the Tab Ex 01 so this is an 02 which is I guess updated model the newest thing from Ecom and comes with Zone 1 model as well as ATEX-rated Zone 2.

Intrinsically Safe Tablet Ecom Tab-Ex 02 is no doubt the thinnest and the lightest rugged tablet I have ever used. It has the best camera and screen resolution, I was so impressed with the images it took. Long battery life and very stylish look, works just like any other tablet but with added features to work in hazardous areas. This one for me is a winner.
